In 2017 NADO Flanders reported an anti-doping rule violation against the boxer for his failure to submit to sample collection. After notification the Athlete was heard for the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission.
The Disciplinary Commission already concluded that can’t be established that the Athlete was properly notified nor that he was sufficiently aware that he was selected for Doping Control. The Athlete acknowledged that the notification occurred after the match in the middle of row about the judging in favour of his opponent.
Further the Commission established that the Doping Control Form in question mentioned deleted names of boxers while the last name mentioned on the Form was not the name of the Athlete. The Doping Control Officer confirmed that the identification of the selected boxer occurred chaotic, attributed to the organisation of the match, since the DCO's were not informed that for the boxing match the selected boxer had been replaced by the Athlete at the last minute .
Therefore NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission decides on 23 January 2018 to acquit the Athlete.
