In October 2017 NADO Flanders has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the padel player after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance Cocaine. After notification a provisional suspension was ordered and the Athlete was heard for the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission. The Athlete admitted the use of Cocaine out-of-competition during a night out about 12 hours before the competititon in a context unrelated to sport performace.
The Disciplinary Commission finds that the presence of the prohibited substance has been established in the Athlete’s sample and accordingly that he committed the anti-doping rule violation. The Commission accepts that the violation was not intentional.
Therefore the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission decides on 23 January 2018 to impose a fine and a 2 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 26 October 2017.
Fees and expenses for this Commission shall be borne by the Athlete.
