In March 2017 the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission decided to impose an 18 month period of ineligibility on the British boxer for committing an anti-doping rule violation.
Hereafter NADO Flanders reported that the Athlete had participated in a boxing match overseas in December 2017 as breach of the imposed ineligibility. After notification the Athlete was heard for the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission.
The Athlete admitted the violation, acknowledged that he was aware that he was sanctioned and that through his participation he would breach ineligibility. He was invited for the boxing match as charity and choose to follow the information from the World Boxing Association (WBA) nevertheless the imposed sanction had wordwide effect.
The Disciplinary Commission finds that the breach of ineligibility had been established and that the Athlete was fully aware that he had violated the ineligibility.
Therefore the NADO Flanders decides on 27 March 2018 to impose a fine and an additional 18 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date the current period of ineligibility will end: i.e. on 5 June 2018.
Fees and expenses for this Commission shall be borne partially by the Athlete.
