In 2018 NADO Flanders has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the cyclist after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substances Prednisone and Prednisolone. After notification the Athlete filed a statement in his defence and he was heard for the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission.
The Athlete admitted the violation and demonstrated with medical information that he suffered from several disorders and used prescribed medication which he mentioned on the Doping Control From. He acknowledged that he mentioned his medication for his Asthma en allergies but failed to mention his Glucocorticosteroids medication on the Doping Control Form .
Considering the evidence in this case the Disciplinary Commission concludes that the violation was not intentional and that the Athlete acted without Fault. Therefore the NADO Flanders disciplinary Commission decides on 27 November 2018 to acquit the Athlete.
Fees and expenses for this Commission shall be borne by the Flemish Government.
