In 2017 NADO Flanders reported two anti-doping rule violations against the Athlete for use and possession after the police had searched his car and found doping substances, needles and pills.
After notification the Athlete failed to attend the hearing and the NADO Flanders Disciplinary Commission decided on 2 January 2018 to impose a 3000 euro fine and a 4 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date of the decision.
Hereafter in the Athlete timely objected to the decision rendered in absentia and the Disciplinary Commission decided to reopen the case. At the hearing the Athlete admitted the possession of the substances in a context related to sport.
Considering the evidence in this case and the Athlete’s admission the Disciplinary Commission concludes that the Athlete intentionally had committed the anti-doping rule violation. Consequently the Commission decides on 20 February 2018 to impose a 1000 fine and a 4 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date of the decision.
Fees and expenses for this Commission shall be borne partially by the Athlete.
