In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Carmen Ilie after her sample tested positive for the prohibited substance sibutramine.
After notification a provisional suspension was orderered and the Athlete was heard for the ANAD Hearing Commission.
The Athlete stated she used a tea product and after she tested positive she researched the tea on the internet en discovered that it contained sibutramine, although this is not mentioned on the label.
The ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 3 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 15 May 2012.

ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2012_10 ANAD vs David Montaire Lawrence

In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete David Montaire Lawrence after his sample tested positive for the prohibited cannabinoid substance JWH018.
After notification a provisional suspension was ordered. The Athlete filed a statement in his defence and did not attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission.
The Athlete stated that the night before the competition he smoked marijuana with his friends.
Due to this is the Athlete’s second violation the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 1 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. 3 May 2012.

ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2012_09 ANAD vs Jaytornay Nyankun Wisseh

In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Jaytornay Nyankun Wisseh after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance cannabis.
After notification the Athlete did not attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission, nor did he file a statement in his defence.
Therefore the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 6 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 2 May 2012.

In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Darius Anton Hargrove after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance cannabis.
After notification a provisional suspension was ordered and the Athlete was heard before the ANAD Hearing Commission.
The Athlete stated that he was at a party after a match where he drank alcohol and smoked cannabis by mistake an without intention to enhance sport performance.
Therefore the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 1 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 13 April 2012.

In March 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Dragos Toncean after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance cannabis.
The Athlete denied the use of cannabis and admitted he used a energydrink Isodrink obtained from his friends. Also the Athlete stated that he was at a party a few days before the competition with people who use cannabis. He was drunk and could not remember if he used cannabis.
The ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 3 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of decision.

ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2012_03 ANAD vs Alina Georgiana Chitic

In November 2011 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Alina Georgiana Chitic after her sample tested positive for the prohibited substance prednisone.
After notification a provisional suspension was ordered. The Athlete filed a statement in her defence and did not attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission.

The minor Athlete could not explain the positive test result and presented a medical file with the analysis of her cortisone levels during her provisional suspension.
the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 3 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 9 January 2012.

ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2012_02 ANAD vs George Valentin Dӑnescu

In December 2011 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete George Valentin Dӑnescu after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance cannabis.

The Athlete admitted he used cannabis a few days before the competition and did not request the B sample analysis.
Therefore the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 3 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of decision.

AFLD 2010 FFC vs Respondent M85

Facts
The French Cycling Federation (Fédération Française de Cyclisme, FFC) charges respondent M85 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a cycling event on May 11, 2010, a sample was taken for doping test purposes. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of erythropoietin. Erythropoietin is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.

History
The respondent was injected intramuscular with the prohibited substance by his doctor, for 15 days, because of a severe accident he had in November 2009. He had used the prohibited substance to regain his level in sport.

Decision
1. The sanction is a three years period of ineligibility in which the respondent can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the FFC, as decided by the disciplinary committee of the FFC, on July 13, 2010, however the extension to other relevant French sport federations is rejected.
2. The decision starts on the date of notification.
3. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.

AFLD 2010 FFS vs Respondent M84

Facts
The French Ski Federation (Fédération Française de Ski, FFS) charges respondent M84 with a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a ski event on March 7, 2010, the respondent provided a sample for doping test purposes. The sample showed the presence of a metabolite of cocaine. Cocaine is a prohibited substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.

History
The respondent had bought coca tea in a supermarket in Peru, this tea he consumed had caused the positive test. He has stamps in his passport as prove for his visit there. He argues that the levels measured are not enough to enhance sport performance. However an athlete has to be cautious what he uses, in this case it is seen as negligence on his side because the ingredient of the tea is written on the product.

Decision
1. The sanction is period of ineligibility of one year in which the respondent can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the FFS.
2. All the results obtained at the ski event on March 7, 2010, are cancelled. Medals, points and prizes are withdrawn.
3. The decision will start on the date of notification.
4. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.

AFLD 2010 FFTri vs Respondent M83

Facts
The French Triathlon Federation (Fédération Française de Triathlon, FFTri) charges respondent M83 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a triathlon on April 18, 2010, a sample was taken for doping control purposes. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of a metabolite of cannabis. Cannabis is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list and regarded as a specified substance.

History
The respondent admits the use of cannabis, but denies wanting to enhance his sport performance. The use of the cannabis was related to personal problems he faced towards his future as professional in sport.

Decision
1. The sanction of three months ineligibility in which the respondent can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the FFTri, dated August 24, 2010, as decided by the disciplinary committee of the FFTri will be extended to other relevant French sport federations.
2. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.
