Facts
The National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania (Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping, ANAD) charges Elena Madalina Capraru, the athlete, for a violation of the Anti-Doping rules. During a national bodybuilding contest on September 28, 2014, the athlete provided a sample for doping test purposes. Analysis of this sample indicated a metabolite of metandienone. Metandienone is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2014 prohibited list.
History
The athlete explains that her trainer had given a pill to improve her performance. She did not ask him what the active ingredients where but where to buy them. These pills were the cause for the positive test.
During the hearing the athlete was accompanied by her mother, and her two coaches, because she was a minor.
Decision
- The sanction is a period of ineligibility of two years in which the athlete can not take part in Bodybuilding and Tennis events.
- The period of ineligibility starts from the date of the decision October 28, 2014, till October 27, 2016.
- Aiming to be reintegrated in sport activity, during the ineligibility period the athlete must undergo four (4) no advance notice doping testing and one of these doping tests at the moment when the sport activity is resumed.
