FIBA 2010 FIBA vs Lon Matthew Gibson

In January 2010 Suomen Antidopingtoimikunta, the Finnish Anti-Doping Agency (FINADA), has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Player after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substances 19-norandrosterone, 19-norandrostenedione and 19-norandrostenediol (metabolites of nandrolone).
FINADA notified the Player and ordered a provisional suspension.
The Player filed a statement in his defence and was heard for the FINADA Supervisory Board.
The Player stated he had used the medication “Deca” (Deca-Durabolin) in order to treat an ankle injury.
On 6 April 2010 the FINADA Supervisory Board decided a two year period of ineligibility starting on the date of the provisional suspension. In July 2010 the Finnish Sports Arbitration Board rejected Player’s appeal. Hereafter FIBA adoptes FINADA’s decision on 24 September 2010.
