In May 2012 Lyfjaráð ÍSÍ, the Iceland ISI Anti-Doping Committee, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Player Karl Halldór Eysteinsson after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substances nandrolone and 19-norandrosterone.

The Playere stated he used tablets which contained the prohibited substance, but failed to mention the name of the tablets, neither could he give details about who provided the tablets to him.
On 21 June 2012 the ISI Tribunal decides to impose a 2 year period of ineligibility on the Player, starting on the date of the decision.
