Facts
The French Cycling Federation (Fédération Française de Cyclisme, FFC) charges respondent M79 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a cycling event samples were taken on October 3, 2010. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of: human chorionic gonadotrophin, modafinil (acid), betamethasone and dexamethasone. These substances are prohibited according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.
History
The respondent explained that the positve tests came from medication he used against narcolepsy - cataplexy and to treat injuries he had suffered from. He had no intention to enhance his sport performance.
Decision
1. The sanction is a period of ineligibility of four years in which the athlete can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the as pronounced by the decision, dated March 24, 2011, of the disciplinary committee of the FFC and extended to related French sport federations.
2. The decision will start on the date of notification and will last till the end of the decision of March 24, 2011.
3. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.
