UKAD 2012 BWLA vs Vasyl Kruk

Facts
The British Weightlifting Association charged Vasyl Kruk, the "Athlete", for a violation of the Anti-Doping rules. On 17 May 2012, the Athlete provided an out-of-competition sample for doping control purposes. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of stanozolol and exogenous testosterone and testosterone metabolites. Stanozolol and exogenous testosterone are prohibited substances according the World Anti-Doping Code prohibited list.

History
The athlete blamed a product called Annavar for the findings and asserted that it must have been contaminated with stanozolol or testosterone. This case was handled without a hearing, it is regarded as a standard sanction, not as two doping violations.

Decision
The sanction is a period of Ineligibility of two years; the period of Ineligibility starts from May 26, 2012, and will end at midnight on May 25, 2014.
