In July 2010 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Vlad Alexandru Ionaşcu after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance cannabis as a second violation.
The Athlete admitted the use of cannabis before he signed the doping control form and initially refused to provide a sample due to he knew he had committed a second anti-doping rule violation, but finally provided the sample.
After notification the Athlete failed to attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission.
Considering this is the Athlete’s second anti-doping rule violation the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 1 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the decision.
