ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2011_05 ANAD vs Dan Tudose

In November 2010 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Dan Tudose after he refused to provide a sample for drug testing after notification. He stated that he did not participate in sport competitions.
After written notice by ANAD the Athlete did not attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission and filed a statement in his defence. The Athlete stated that he practiced his sport only recreationally, although he was registered to the Romanian Traditional Karate Federation. At the hearing sport officials confirmed that the Mr. Tudose was not an official athlete, that he did not participate in sport competitions and the registered him as an athlete only to have access to the gym.

The Hearing Commission concludes that the Athlete violated the sport regulations because he was registered to the Romanian Traditional Karate Federeation and because he had the Athlete status.
Therefore the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 2 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the decision.
