In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete David Montaire Lawrence after his sample tested positive for the prohibited cannabinoid substance JWH018.
After notification a provisional suspension was ordered. The Athlete filed a statement in his defence and did not attend the hearing of the ANAD Hearing Commission.
The Athlete stated that the night before the competition he smoked marijuana with his friends.
Due to this is the Athlete’s second violation the ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 1 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. 3 May 2012.
