ANAD Comisia de Audiere 2012_14 ANAD vs Carmen Ilie

In April 2012 the Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping (ANAD), the National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania, has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Carmen Ilie after her sample tested positive for the prohibited substance sibutramine.
After notification a provisional suspension was orderered and the Athlete was heard for the ANAD Hearing Commission.
The Athlete stated she used a tea product and after she tested positive she researched the tea on the internet en discovered that it contained sibutramine, although this is not mentioned on the label.
The ANAD Hearing Commission decides to impose a 3 month period of ineligibility on the Athlete, starting on the date of the provisional suspension, i.e. on 15 May 2012.
