AFLD 2014 FFA vs Respondent M25

Facts
The French Athletics Federation (Fédération Française d'athlétisme, FFA) charges respondent M25 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During an athletic event on April 14, 2013, a sample was taken for doping test purposes. Analysis of the sample showed a high level of 19-norandrosterone which is a metabolite of nandrolone. Analysis by a complementary isotope-ratio mass spectrometry indicates an exogenous origin of metabolites of nandrolone. Nandrolone of exogenous origin is a prohibited substances according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.

History
Respondent claims the positive test derives from an energy drink or consumption of protein she uses. However she was unable to demonstrate that they contained a metabolite of nandrolone.

1. The sanction is a period of ineligibility of two years in which respondent can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the FFA and related federations.
2. The period of ineligibility will be reduced by the time already served in voluntary suspension and by the decision (three years of ineligibility) dated December 17, 2013, by the disciplinary committee of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation.
