Facts
The UK Anti-Doping Organization ("UKAD") charged Christopher Edwards, the athlete, for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. Possession, use and attempted use of trenbolone enanthate, testosterone cypionate, trenbolone, testosterone and androstenedione. All these substances are prohibited according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.
History
On 6 December 2013 a third party supplied UKAD with the following:
a. Tesco plastic carrier bag containing a quantity of hypodermic syringes and needles and two empty bottles of Trentest 300. On closer inspection:
- Three needles had been removed from the packaging and there appeared to be liquid in the tip of each; and
- Three needles had been removed from the packaging; and
b. Small grey plastic bag containing a quantity of hypodermic syringes and needles and a partially used bottle of Trentest 300; and
c. Two boxes of hypodermic syringes.
The athlete was confronted with the fact that all these products where found is his home, he was asked for an early admission.
The athlete admits in writing the possession and use but claims there are no aggravating circumstances. The panel doesn't share that view.
Decision
1. The period of ineligibility imposed is three years from 27 April 2014.
