Facts
The National Anti-Doping Agency of Romania (Agenţia Naţională Anti-Doping, ANAD) charges George Ostache, the athlete, for a violation of the Anti-Doping rules. During an out-of-competition doping control on September 6, 2014, the athlete provided a sample for doping test purposes. Analysis of this sample showed the presence of clenbuterol which is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2014 prohibited list.
History
The athlete did not show to the meeting session, although he had been legally notified. The Commission made sure if the notification was sent to him, regarding his attendance at the meeting was sent in time and it took note the fact that the receipt confirmation was not within the case file, for this reason it was decided to postpone the meeting for October 21, 2014. The athlete did not show at the hearing meeting, but he sent the request of not being heard via e-mail on October 13, 2014.
Decision
- The sanction is a period of ineligibility of 2 years.
- The period of ineligibility starts from the date of the decision October 21, 2014, till October 20, 2016.
- The athlete still holds the responsibility to provide his whereabouts information for testing purposes (4 no advance doping tests).
