COLDEPORTES 2017 FECODATLE vs Erika Abril Suarez

In August 2017 the National Anti-Doping Group of the Colombian Institute of Sport (Coldeportes) has reported and anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Erika Abril Suarez after her A and B sample tested positive for the prohibited substance Erythropoietin (EPO).

After notification a provisional suspension was ordered and the Athlete filed a statement in her defence.
The Disciplinary Commission of the Colombian Athletics Federation (FECODATLE) finds that the test results of the Athlete’s samples establish the presence of a prohibited sample and accordingly that she committed an anti-doping rule violation.

Therefore the Disciplinary Commission decided on 7 November 2017 to impose a 4 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date that the disciplinary proceedings were opened, i.e. on 17 August 2017.
