COLDEPORTES 2017 FEDEPESAS vs Jeison Lopez Lopez

In September 2017 the National Anti-Doping Group of the Colombian Institute of Sport (Coldeportes) has reported and anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete Jeison Lopez Lopez after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substance 1,3-Dimethylbutylamine (1,3-DMBA).

After notification the Athlete filed a statement in his defence. The Athlete denied the intentional use of the substance, he could not explaine the presence of the substance in his sample, his supplement did not contain any prohibited substance and he requested for a minimum sanction.

The Disciplinary Commission of the Colombian Weightlifting Federation (FEDEPESAS) finds that the Athlete committed an anti-doping rule violation and considers that the violation was admitted and untentional. Therefore the Disciplinary Commission decides on 17 October 2017 to impose a 2 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete.
