World Athletics 2019 WA vs Philip Sanga Kimutai

In October 2019 the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics (WA) has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Kenyan Athlete Philip Sanga Kimutai after his sample tested positive for the prohibited substances 5α-androstane-3α,17β-diol and 5β-androstane-3α,17β-diol.

After notification the Athlete filed a statement in his defence. In his submissing the Athlete denied the intentional use of the substance but failed to establish how it entered his system. Hereafter the Athlete didn't respond to the AIU communications.

Without the Athlete’s response the AIU deems the Athlete under the Rules to have admitted the anti-doping rule violation, to have waived his right to be heard and to have accepted the consequences.

Therefore the AIU decides on 19 December 2019 to impose a 4 year period of ineligibility on the Athlete starting on the date of the notification, i.e. 9 October 2019.
