The Dutch Ice Hockey Federation (NIJB) has reported defendant for a Anti-Doping Code violation, in his samples taken on January 27, 2007, and February 15, 2007, were traces of Finasteride. Finasteride is a prohibited substance.
The defendant claims to use a medicine for treatment and provides explanations about this. However he failed to ask for dispensation for the use of this medicine, which is a masking agent. Also there was an earlier incident in 2003 for the use of ephedrine.
The sanction will be a period of ineligibility of 2 years.
