In March 2013 the Royal Netherlands Power Sport and Fitness Federation (KNKF) has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete after he tested positive for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine (dimethylpentylamine). After notification the Athlete filed a statement in his defence and was heard for the KNKF Disciplinary Committee.
The Athlete stated that he used supplements regularly and received advise from his father as his coach and trainer. The Athlete used on the day of the competition a new supplement, recommended by his father, and did not know it contained the substance. After he tested positive the Athlete discovered that it contained the methylhexaneamine. The Athlete’s father (coach and trainer) testified that he usually researched all the Athlete’s supplements, but admitted that he failed to do this before providing the new supplement to the Athlete.
The KNKF Disciplinary Committee concludes that the Athlete acted negligently without intention to enhance his sport performance and decides to impose a 1 year period of ineligibility.
Fees and expenses for this committee shall be borne by the Athlete.
