ISR 2013 KNWU Decision Disciplinary Committee 2013095 T
September 25, 2013
The Royal Dutch Cycling Federation (KNWU) has reported an anti-doping rule violation against the Athlete after his 2 samples tested positive for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine (dimethylpentylamine). The samples were collected on two separate occasions in May 2013.
After notification the Athlete was provisional suspended in August 2013. The Athlete filed a statement in his defence and was heard for the KNWU Disciplinary Commission.
The Athlete stated that he used supplements for many years and that one of these contained the prohibited substance. He produced test results which showed that one supplement product was contaminated.
The supplement manufacturer confirmed that the complete batch of this supplement was contaminated with the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine.
Considering the evidence and statements, the Commission concludes that the Athlete acted careful with the use of supplements and his positive test was the result of the contamination of one of his supplements. Therefore the KNWU Disciplinary Commission decides on 25 September 2013 to impose a reprimand on the Athlete. Fees and expenses for this committee shall be borne by the Athlete and the KNWU.
Hereafter the Athlete’s provisional suspension continued due to a second anti-doping rule violation was reported against the Athlete in August 2013.
