AFLD 2007 FFC vs Respondent M50

Facts
The French Cycling Federation (Fédération Française de Cyclisme, FFC) charges respondent M50 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a cycling event on December 30, 2006, a sample was taken for doping control purposes. Analysis of the sample showed the presence of heptaminol which is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list.

History
The respondent at first challenged the positive result of the doping test but then explains that he had taken a pharmaceutical product containing heptaminol, three days before the cycling event. He didn't mentioned the use of the product on the doping control form. He had taken it from his father in law the pharmaceutical leaflet was not given to him. He had used it for a therapeutic purposes.

1. The sanction is a period of ineligibility of six months in which respondent can't take part in competition or manifestations organized or authorized by the FFC.
2. The decision starts on the date of notification.
3. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.
