Ms. Betsy Andreu is the wife of professional cyclist and later assistant cycling director Frankie Andreu.
Mr. and Ms. Andreu testified that they visited Lance Armstrong in the Indiana University Hospital on 27 October 1996 where Armstrong was for a cancer treatment. In a full room Lance Armstrong confessed to his doctors he had used performance enhancing drugs: EPO, testosterone, growth hormone, cortisone and steroids.

On several occasions she was with Mr. Frankie Andreu in Europe where he rode races as member of the professional cycling teams. As a result Ms. Andreu testified to USADA about the widespread trafficking, possession and distribution of prohibited substances and discussions about doping in these professional cycling teams. She stated about the involvement in doping of Mr. Andreu, Lance Armstrong, other accompliced riders, medical doctors and officials.
Also she testified about the altercations between Mr. Andreu and Lance Armstrong.

Mr. Volodymyr Bileka is an Ukrainian professional cyclist since 2002 and rode in the professional teams of Landbouwkrediet-Colnago, Discovery Channel, Silence-Lotto, Amore & Vita-Conad and Konya Torku Şeker Spor. In 2008 a 2 year period of ineligibility was imposed on Mr. Bileka after he tested positive erythropoietin (EPO).
Hereafter Mr. Bileka admitted to the Italian judicial branch the use of erythropoietin (EPO). He testified about the involvement of Dr. Michele Ferrari in doping, including through advice regarding the use of EPO and blood doping, in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

AFLD 2010 FFC vs Respondent M06

Facts
The French Cycling Federation (Fédération Française de Cyclisme, FFC) charges respondent M06 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a cycling event on May 17, 2009, a sample was taken for doping test purposes. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of prednisolone and prednisone which are regarded as prohibited substances according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list. These substances are regarded as a specified substances.

History
The cause of the positive test is medication the respondent uses to treat allergy. He has reports which show the results of allergy tests.

Decision
1. The decision, dated October 16, 2009, of the disciplinary committee of the FFC should be modified (a warning was given).
2. The sanction will be a period of ineligibility of one month.
3. The decision starts on the date of notification.
4. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.

Mr. Filippo Simeoni is an Italian professional cyclist between 1995 and 2009 and rode in the professional teams of Carrera Jeans-Tassoni, Asics-CGA, Riso Scotti, Amica Chips, Cantina Tollo-Acqua e Sapone, Domina Vacanze, Naturino, Aurum Hotels and Ceramica Flaminia-Bossini Docce.
Mr. Simeoni admitted to the Italian judicial branch, and hereafter to USADA, the use of erythropoietin (EPO) and testosterone.

Simeoni was treated by doctor Michele Ferrari, who was also Armstrong's doctor. Simeoni testified in court that he began with doping in 1993, that Dr. Ferrari had prescribed him doping products such as EPO and Human Growth Hormone in 1996 and 1997, and that Ferrari also gave him instructions on how to use these products. Other involved cyclists in the same investigation denied their involvement in doping in front of the law enforcement agency.
After Simeoni’s testimony against Dr. Ferrari became known, Lance Armstrong used his position as a globally recognized sports icon to verbally attack Simeoni, calling him a liar in media interviews.
Simeoni testified about his altercations with Armstrong at the 2004 Tour de France.

Mr. Leonardo Bertagnolli is a Italian professional cyclist between 2002 and 2012 and rode in the professional teams of Saeco Macchine per Caffè-Longoni Sport, Cofidis, Liquigas, Amica Chips-Knauf, Diquigiovanni-Androni and Lampre-ISD.
Bertagnolli admitted to the Italian procecutor the use of erythropoietin (EPO), testosterone, growth hormone (hGH), and blood doping. He testified about the use, possession, trafficking, and distribution of prohibited substances and methods in the professional cycling teams, his involvement and the involvement of the team doctor Michele Ferrari.

The respondent used the prohibited substance two days before the doping control. There was no intention to enhance sport performance, the use was in a recreational setting.

Mr. Stephen Swart is a professional cyclist from 1987 through 1995 and rode in the professional teams of ANC Halfords, SEFB-Tönissteiner, Coors Light and Motorola.
Swart testified to USADA and stated he used Erythropoietin (EPO) together with his teammates including Lance Armstrong in the Motorola Cycling Team in 1994 and 1995.

The French Federation of Weightlifting, Fitness, Powerlifting and Bodybuilding (Fédération Française d'Halterophilie, Musculation, Force Athlétique et Culturisme, FFHMFAC) charges respondent M03 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a body-building contest on May 16, 2009, a sample was taken for doping test purposes. The sample showed the presence of metabolites of stanozolol. Stanozolol is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list and is regarded as a specified substance.

History
The respondent has no knowledge of taking prohibited substances, he uses dietary supplements obtained from the internet, which could be the cause of the positive test.

Decision
1. The sanction is a two years period of ineligibility in which respondent can't take part in competition or sport manifestations organized or authorized by French sport federations.
2. All the results obtained at the match on May 16, 2009, are cancelled. Medals, points and prizes are withdrawn.

2. All the results obtained at the match on April 25, 2009, are cancelled. Medals, points and prizes are withdrawn.

The French Basketball Federation (Fédération Française de Basket-Ball, FFBB) charges respondent M01 for a violation of the Anti-Doping Rules. During a match on December 1, 2007, a sample was taken for doping test purposes. The analysis of the sample showed the presence of prednisolone. Prednisolone is a prohibited substance according the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list and is regarded as a specified substance.

History
The respondent was treated with an injection in his right ankle, this injection contained the prohibited substance. He has medical statements for this treatment from his physician. There was no intention to enhance his sport performance. An application form for a therapeutic use exemption was sent to the AFLD.

Decision
1. Respondent is acquitted.
2. The decision starts on the date of notification.
3. The decision will be published and sent to the parties involved.
